Guardian was founded in 2007 with a veteran-owned mindset and a simple mission: protection through education and training. Based in Deer Park, Long Island, we've spent 18+ years serving the community through firearms sales, range access, professional training, security services and private investigations. Founder
Matt Seifer — Founder & Lead Instructor
Matt Seifer founded Guardian in 2007 and has built it into one of Long Island's most respected firearms, security and investigative operations. A U.S. veteran, he holds a New York State private investigator license, a Federal Firearms License, and multiple NRA and DCJS instructor certifications — credentials he has used to train thousands of civilians, security professionals and law enforcement personnel across New York.
Matt personally oversees Guardian's CCW and NYC requalification programs, the DCJS-approved armed guard curriculum, and the MILO live-fire simulator training. On the investigative side, he manages surveillance, digital forensics and litigation-support casework, producing documentation built to hold up under legal review.
His philosophy is simple and unchanged since day one: protection through education. Equipment is secondary to judgment, and every student who leaves Guardian should be safer, more confident, and fully legal.
